PB4L Presentation Night

On Tuesday 18th February, we invited our parents to come and learn about our PB4L program at Rosebank School. PB4L is Positive Behaviour For Learning - where we actively teach the skills students need to be able to be the best they can be.

For our presentation, we teamed up with Mrs Michie and Room 4. Our Room 9 students were great role models for the younger students and really enjoyed working with them on our chosen value of "Achieve".

Everyone can achieve! Achieving looks different to all of us. For some of our students the focus is on regular attendance so they have the best possible chance of success. For other students it is to master that tricky maths problem (and I have seen great success this week with fractions, especially for Maddie and Sam in Year 8 and most of the Year 7 students). This helps me, as a teacher, achieve my own goals - so we are ALL working on achieving. We celebrate every little success as well as those bigger ones. The little ones are especially important to me, because the smile on a student's face when they finally get a few examples correct, is priceless!

We are wound up now and ready for camp! Students are excited and we have a great bunch of parents coming along with us too. Stay tuned for Camp Blogs when we return.

We're Baaaaacckkkkk!!!!

And 2020 has started well!

We have a busy term ahead - including Camp in Week 4! Thanks so much to those parents who have volunteered to join us on our adventure to Bannockburn. We will have a parent meeting on Wednesday 12th at 5:00pm. We would really like to have all parents attend so that we can go over expectations, what to bring, activities etc. Camp notices (medical and food allergies) will be coming home either tomorrow or Wednesday.

We have goal setting interviews next week - you will be emailed a code to make your booking. If these days do not suit, please let me know and we can try and fit in another time, either before or after school. The interviews are scheduled for:

Monday 10th February 3:30-8;15pm
Tuesday 11th February 3:30-6:00
pm

I look forward to seeing you all on these two evenings - helping to set those all important goals.

We have a wonderful class of 20 students, and we welcome two new students to our school, Millie and Dion. They have slotted in beautifully and are making some good friends.

We have begun our athletics training for the upcoming Athletics Day - please ensure that your children have their PE clothes (and a spare pair of shoes in these muddy conditions wouldn't be a bad idea) each day so they can keep their uniform clean.

If you are in the school at any time, please feel free to drop in to Room 9 and say hello and check out what we are doing!!!

Stay turned for our adventures - don't forget to not just read our blog, but also leave our class a comment - the students love seeing who is reading their blog!
